View Full Version : Maintenance SW very unstable

Hi,

I have problems with Maintenance SW and sometimes with applications too.

When I'm going to start Maintenance 4.0, in 50% of cases it won't really start (no window), but I can see it under running processes.
The main problem is, that it is UNKILLABLE process, no way to stop (and restart) thread, even no way to restart PC normally, only a cold RESET helps.
And if it starts OK, sometimes it freezes on clicking of buttons (for example "go support usb smart"), doesn't open IE window, doesn't answer, no way to stop and no way to get into support area until reset of the whole PC.

I think it's protection issue but very annoying, please correct it.

@ all who have this problem

Please tell me if you take out from usb port the dongle and try (after this) to close from Windows Task Manager the aplication is still remaning in proceses.

Main problem is USB port, try to use an USB HUB and please report if you get same error.

When USB-smart software crashes/freezes (which is does pretty often :rolleyes:) software is completely frozen, and windows task manager is unable to end process. Your only hope is to remove dongle from USB-port.

I think this should be fixed... In any case it should be possible to end the process normally from task manager if it freezes.

Btw, i just got maintanance app freezing when clicking "update dongle smart card".

yes even if we use USB HUB it hangs many many times somtimes dongle not found very unstable

With USB-Hub it is the same, only solution is to remove dongle and try again...

In my experiance it happens sometimes just remove dongle then reinsert or I need to restart the machine either way its not a train smash in my eyes

My PC is located under my desktop and very unconfortable to plug any dongle out of the USB ports located on the back panel.

I think a stable software would be the better solution than forcing users to change and (un)plug dongles and/or resetting their PCs becouse of a not killable thread.

Manole/Zulea, please look for any satisfying solution!

I have the same problem. I have my USB Smart pluged into Twister Box and it always worked OK. The last I used it started to make problems. I had to restart computer two times to make it work.

For me is working very good directly to my usb or pluged into twister.

I cant help you more.
